Irvine, 43, has lived in Los Angeles for the past five years, but she can’t escape her Alaska roots — she called Anchorage home for 37 years, graduated from East High School and knew Tudor Road before it became a main thoroughfare– which is why she made sure her jeans traveled north. Irvine didn’t go to L.A. with the intention of designing jeans. But that’s just what happens when a denim lover enduring the lifelong challenge of finding pants that are long enough to cover her from hip to heel moves to the country’s denim mecca.
